  After reading the previous book, I immediately grabbed up this one. I was hoping that it included the story of the oldest sister, Patience. Not only was her romance included, but it was the best part of the book in my opinion. The long-winded reintroduction in the beginning of the book was necessary for readers who had not read any of the Reviews: Laura Hile is the author of Mercys Embrace, a three-book novel, of which the first two books are now available. So Rough a Course (Book One) and So Lively a Chase (Book Two) tell the story of Elizabeth Elliot, the older sister of Anne Elliot, the heroine of Jane Austens Persuasion, and how she comes to fall in love with Patrick McGillvary, the /5(34).

I got So Rough a Course, Book 1 of Laura Hile’s trilogy, Mercy’s Embrace: Elizabeth Elliott’s Story for free and liked it so much I immediately bought Books II (So Lively a Chase) and III (The Lady Must Decide). As I read them compulsively, one after another, I’m reviewing them together/5(26).

I mean, writing a memoir like this. Sharing the story of a lost loved one. My great grandmother wrote a book about the story of her son, John, who died at age 17 in a car accident in India.
